Disease and surveillance pages

Disease pages describe reported surveillance data, not a diagnosis or individualized medical or treatment advice. If you believe you are experiencing symptoms of a foodborne illness, contact a healthcare provider.

Outbreak pages

A reported food vehicle on an outbreak page reflects what investigators have published as suspected or confirmed. It is not a statement that a specific product caused illness beyond what the official source states.

Recall, company, brand, and food pages

A recall summary is based on the official recall notice it links to. Appearing in past recalls does not mean a company, brand, or food is inherently unsafe -- it means Public Health Trace found published recall or outbreak records mentioning it. These pages are not a safety rating, ranking, or statement that a company acted negligently.

Drug recall pages

A drug recall summary is based on the official FDA drug enforcement record it links to. Public Health Trace never recommends starting, stopping, or changing a medication, and does not provide pharmacy or dosing guidance. If you have questions about a specific medication or a recall that affects you, talk to your pharmacist or physician, and consult the official FDA source linked on that page for the most current information.
