Measles Cases in 2026

As of October 22, 2026, 4,588 confirmed measles cases were reported in the United States, with 4,570 cases reported by 47 jurisdictions and 18 cases among international visitors. Of these, 96% (4,404) were outbreak-associated, including 3,020 from outbreaks starting in 2026 and 1,384 from outbreaks that began in 2025. The U.S. MMR vaccination coverage among kindergartners declined to 92.4% in the 2025–2026 school year, leaving approximately 280,000 children unvaccinated. Measles remains a significant public health concern due to declining vaccination rates and global increases in measles activity.
